It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, friend and colleague, Vincent Famularo. He passed away peacefully at Denver Hospice on April 17, 2023. We are comforted that he is at peace. Vince was born the fourth child of Joseph Anthony Famularo and Frances Norma Pellegrini on April 9, 1948 in Denver, Colorado. He grew up in the Park Hill neighborhood, going to Blessed Sacrament Elementary and Machebeuf High School. Naturally athletic, he played running back in football and pitcher for the baseball team during his high school years. His family’s business, V Famularo and Sons, Wholesale Fruit and Produce, was a summer job for him and a number of his friends throughout high school and college.

Vin attended The University of Northern Colorado, where he majored in Finance and Marketing. Upon graduation, he and Gina Dunn were married. Vin joined V Famularo and Sons, learning the life of starting work at four in the morning. Upon the closure of the business in 1980, he started a new career in Real Estate, first for Van Schaack and then ReMax. He thought he had gone to heaven when he didn’t have to get to work so early… unless it was to schedule lunch or golf. In 1988, he was asked by a friend to join a new start up produce company called Fresh RePack. When this company was bought out by the Sysco Corporation he was hired as Merchandising Manager and remained at FreshPoint of Denver until his retirement in 2016.

Vince was a lifelong skier, and played tennis and golf. He excelled at all three. We loved biking together and our family activities included these and hiking and camping and soccer weekends and trips.

Vince is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Gina. When asked the secret to such a long marriage, Vince and Gina always said this it was because they made each other laugh. His greatest joy and proudest accomplishments are his three sons, Joshua (Sarah) Famularo, Ryan (Erin) Famularo, and Michael Famularo. His twin grandsons, who bring so much joy to our family, Callen and Lucia Famularo (Ryan and Erin Famularo). Vince was an exceptional father, evidenced by what fine, successful and caring young men his sons have become. He is also survived by his sisters, Maryann Famularo and Rosemary (Mike) Muller. He is predeceased in death by his older brother Joseph Famularo, and his parents, Joseph Famularo, Frances and Victor Famularo.

  1. I’m getting to the older age (75) and was thinking of my college days, room mates and so forth and thought of Vince at Colorado State College…and upon googling his name I was struck and saddend to read of his passing last year. I’m sorry for your loss.
Vince, Chuck Mueller, Jim Ryan and I rented a house at school 1967-69. He was a great roommate and fun to cruise with in his Corvette. I’m sure his legacy lives on.
