For nearly all of human history, this is how we said goodbye: a body returned directly to living ground, wrapped in cloth or laid in simple wood, with the people who loved them gathered close. Green burial simply gives that back. No embalming chemicals, no concrete vault, nothing between your person and the earth.
How green burial works

Natural preparation
Your person is bathed and cared for naturally, never with chemical embalming. Families who wish to may take part, as people have for most of human history.

A shroud or a simple vessel
Your family chooses a shroud of natural cloth or a biodegradable casket of pine, willow, or bamboo. Simple, honest materials the earth knows how to receive.

A cemetery that welcomes it
We coordinate with the growing number of Colorado cemeteries that welcome green burial, from dedicated natural burial grounds to green sections of familiar cemeteries near you.

Ceremony at the graveside
Family and friends gather at the grave itself, to lower, to shovel earth if they wish, to speak and sing and stand together. Many families tell us this is the part that heals.
What it gives back
A green burial asks almost nothing of the earth and gives quietly back to it. The ground stays living. Native grasses and wildflowers grow over the grave. Some natural burial grounds double as protected land, so the place your person rests is also a place that stays wild because they are there.
And it gives something back to the family too: a real place to return to, season after season, that looks like Colorado rather than a lawn.
