Stuart Todd, age 90, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Lafayette, Colorado.
Born in New York, Stuart led a life marked by honor, humility, and service. As a dedicated officer in the United States Army for over 20 years, his military career took him both across the country and internationally, shaping a spirit of strength that defined him throughout his life. After retiring from the military, he pursued a successful career as an electrical engineer—steady-handed and precise in all that he did.
For the past three decades, Stuart made his home in Louisville, Colorado, where he became a familiar and dependable presence in the community and neighborhood. He volunteered at many local churches, offering his time, skills, and support.
Stuart’s jokes were always the best in the room—sharp, memorable, and delivered with perfect timing. He carried a strength and a love for his family that was unwavering.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a moment of laughter in his memory, and if you feel called, donate to a veterans’ or local church organization in his name.

Stuart Todd was our dear neighbor and friend for 35 years. We have many fond memories of him. He has always been willing pitch in on projects in our cul-de-sac. He once climbed up a ladder onto our second floor deck as I was locked out and 8 months pregnant!! He was always willing to help out a neighbor in distress! Stuart was my husband’s “go to guy” when it came to advice on electronics and tools. We learned a lot from him!
Our most favorite memories include a fun family camping trip to the mountains as well as holiday dinners out to nice restaurants to celebrate Christmas. Stuart will always be remembered as Opa to us and his wife , Leann, is our one and only Oma. We will miss Stuart, his funny Witt and having him be a part of our lives for so many years!
The Buckley SFB military Retiree Activities Office (RAO) would like to offer our sincere condolences and our gratitude for Mr. Todd’s service to our country in the Army. If you would like help with any matters related to casualty assistance, Defense Finance & Accounting Service, Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), Veterans Affairs (VA), etc. you can contact our office on Buckley SFB at 720-847-6693 or raobuckley@gmail.com. I feel so blessed to have known Stuart, even if it was only for only a few short years. I would have loved to have gotten to know Stuart better, but unfortunately God had other plans. In the short time that I did get to spend with Stuart; I quickly realized what a kind, generous, gentle soul he was. He was a man of few words, but had such a sense of humor! I could tell that he was loved dearly by his wife Liane, and his granddaughter Alexia. I know that Stuart will be missed by his family and friends, but especially the love of his life Liane. My heart breaks for Liane, Alexia and Cody as they deal with this huge loss in all of their lives. I continue to pray for Stuart’s family, during this most difficult time of loss.
With deepest sympathies,
Laura
Stuart… dad to myself and my brother Christian.
Lots of great memories of our times together. He was always there throughout my life to help and support me. Remembering our family vacations when I was a child, to vacations when I was an adult and mother will forever bring a smile to my face. We shared an abundance of warmth, laughter, and tears throughout the many years.
He was a wonderful grandfather to my daughter Alexi.
Love always, your daughter
Barbara
Dear Liane, I did not know until today that Stuart died way back earlier this summer. What a great man he was! And what a great love you two had. Stuart is, along with you, perhaps the best volunteer I’ve come across in my now 51 years of serving as a priest. You two were, in my years at Sacred Heart of Jesus parish, an ever present duo of helpers at whatever needed to be done. Whether it was establishing cameras to record the goings on at church and the surrounding property, to fixing the mechanical systems, to building our rectory porches, to – well, on and on! Then there was the continuous work, you Liane, did to clean out our refrigerator, to wash linens, to making sure the rectory was a home, not just a place for priests to live. No words can express my gratitude. Liane, life without Stuart will be very different, but I hope you take great joy in all that you have been to each other and to so many more.
God bless you, Father Bill Breslin
