October 22, 1946 – October 2, 2022

Leo Libfeld passed away on Sunday, October 2nd surrounded by loved ones in Denver, CO. Leo is survived by his wife of 20 years Carol Moran; daughter Lisa Maley (Dan) and their children, Karley, Mark and Scott; daughter Jessie Krall; father-in-law Paul Moran; cousin Simon (Suzanne) and the many friends who are like family that he has collected throughout the years.

Born to David and Julia Libfeld in 1946 in Germany Leo immigrated to New York with his parents and late sister Sally in 1951 where he was raised in Newburgh, NY. He attended New York University and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1969. After graduating he moved to Chicago where he was one of the founding members of the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Leo proudly raised his girls in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park, IL while working at the Exchange. In 2000 Leo and Carol moved to Scottsdale, AZ where he worked as a retirement specialist at Vanguard. He enjoyed spoiling his loved ones, including his many dogs. Leo thrived off of using his brilliant mind and shared his gifts as a volunteer math tutor and as an ongoing student himself continually taking classes over the years at the Scottsdale Community College.

Leo was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and his presence was a blessing in the lives of all who knew him.

A celebration life will be held on the afternoon of November 26th in Denver.
