John Bartle

John Henry Bartle died at the age of 79, on March 10th, 2023 in Arvada, CO. He was born to Everett E. Bartle and Elizabeth Barron Bartle on November 27th, 1943 in Sparta, WI. He had an older sister, Mary Bartle Kukal. In his childhood he played the drums, violin, baseball, and tennis. A Navy veteran, John served as LTJG munitions officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise and U.S.S. Saratoga. He was an undergraduate at Baker University and received his Masters degree from Central Missouri State University. He had a successful career in business consulting.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cathy Hardt Bartle, and two sons, Chris and Daniel. Chris is married to Lorian Bartle, with children Sylvia (5) and Carl (4). Daniel is married to Katie Bartle, with children Melody (10) and Gemma (7). His passion for travel was shared with his family, especially the love of his life Cathy, with whom he went on numerous trips. He loved nature, hiking, biking, and skiing. He hiked often in the mountains with Cathy and Chris while he and Daniel explored the underwater via their shared interest in Scuba diving. During his travels, John’s interests were keenly felt, with him documenting every moment with his camera.

John was dedicated, loving, and supportive to all members of his family. We will miss him dearly.
