Carol Faye Miller, 81, passed away peacefully with family members by her side at home in Boulder. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio and attended Kent State University, earning her medical technology degree.

She was a member of the “Gamma Phi Beta” sorority. During that time she was a contestant in the Miss Ohio and Miss Alliance contests. She was one of the finalists, and played a piano recital in the talent portion of the event. In 1981, she was 1st runner up in the Mrs. Colorado pageant. She also did professional fashion modeling.

Carol is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas M Miller, her son Thomas E Miller, daughter Deanna Marie Childs, and grandchildren Kristina, Victoria, David, Erik, and Katherine. Carol and Thomas moved to Colorado in 1971, and resided in Gunbarrel in Boulder County.

She loved music, and was active in travel, tennis, and playing bridge. She was an avid reader and loved the outdoors, especially the Colorado sunsets.

Carol worked in the Boulder Medical Center for a number of years as a medical technologist, and later worked at the Ethan Allen Design Center in Broomfield.

After her passing, Carol was cremated and her ashes will be distributed by her family by her wishes. her family asks that any contributions be made out to Trail Winds Hospice of Boulder. A celebration of her life to honor her with friends and family will be planned and announced in the near future.
