August 2, 1932 – December 5, 2023

Beatrice “LaVonne” Vining was born in Anthon, Iowa on August 2, 1932. She was the second oldest child, of fourteen, of Cyril Walling and Margaret Walling. She was raised in Iowa, on a farm near Correctionville. Later she met and married the love of her life Wyman Vining and the two moved to Denver, Colorado in 1959. LaVonne is survived by her husband of 70 years, three daughters Rita Vining, Reva Nickel, and Raelene Vining along with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

LaVonne worked for the local Telephone Company as a Switchboard Operator at 18 years old. She loved her career and worked her way into management. She was a representative of the management team, negotiating contracts with the local and national unions. She retired after 38 years as a Human Resources Manager. During this time, she also attained a degree in Theology.

After her retirement, LaVonne and Wyman continued their passion for travel and visited multiple countries in Europe, and Australia. They also loved Cruises in the Caribbean Islands. Their travel included multiple states in the US as well. They enjoyed visiting their second home in Mulege, Baja California Sur, Mexico, and later in Yuma, Arizona.

Along with her travels, she was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She was an active member of many quilting groups in Colorado and Arizona. She loved to sew for friends and family and acquaintances, and would even finish their quilts.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
