Natural death-care educator, Natural Transitions executive director and co-founder of Colorado's first holistic mortuary, The Natural Funeral, Karen van Vuuren discusses rites of passage for honoring death as a sacred transition. Ritual can transform our relationship to difficult and challenging loss, offering a way to be with mortality, perhaps when we, ourselves, are beyond words. Karen has supported 100s of families to lead vigils and wakes (often in the home of the departed), in an age-old tradition of blessing the journey of the one who has died.
