Kim Kathleen Higgins

Kim Kathleen Higgins passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025 at the age of 71 in Longmont, Colorado. Kim was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska to William J. Higgins and Lillian B. Higgins. She received her Bachelor of Accounting and Business Management degree at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
Kim moved to Colorado in 1980 to be with her beloved sisters and to raise her family. She enjoyed many years of her life in Colorado, owning her own business as a successful CPA and gathering many friends from all walks of life along the way. Kim spent four relaxing years at a beautiful farm in Corvallis, Oregon where she lived with her lifelong best friend Anne Schuster, accompanied by her dog and partner in crime, Maizie. Kim returned once again to Colorado to spend the last few years of her life surrounded by her loving daughters and sisters.
Kim was a cherished and active member of the 12-step community throughout her life. Those who were lucky enough to cross paths with Kim knew that to know her was to love her. She made new friends up until the very end. She was a shining light, a friend to all, and the best mom and sister anyone could ask for. Her humor, radiance, and bright red hair will be remembered fondly.
Kim is survived by her daughters Amy, Katie, and Chelsea, her granddaughter Poppy, and her sisters “The Higgins Girls” — Nancy, Karen, Jill and Jan.
A celebration of life will take place on August 30th from 2-5pm at Willow Farm Contemplative Center, 11898 N 75th St, Hygiene, Colorado 80503. In lieu of flowers or gifts we encourage you to spend extra time with a loved one.
