Kathryn Brown Werner

Kathryn Brown Werner

August 25, 1963 – August 9, 2025

Kathryn passed at home, with her husband by her side and friends and family supporting her from near and far. Her loss will be felt by the many who loved her as a wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.

She was a steadfast friend, ready to listen with attention and connect deeply at a moment’s notice. She lived with grace and ferocity, vulnerability and openness. She was a source of strength and light for her community.

Those who knew and loved her — and who continue to love her — should find and appreciate the beauty in the natural world, live openly and authentically, and laugh with your whole body. Kathryn would want it that way.

She is missed.

  1. I am drinking a margarita and eating fish tacos at Maya Del Sol in Oak Park Illinois in honor of Kathryn. Kathryn, I will miss your laughter and your incredibly kind and generous spirit!

  2. A stunning and beautiful description of our dear Kathryn and how she approached life. A steadfast friend indeed. I feel lucky to have had 41 years of her friendship; and I will keep her in my heart, drawing on all the laughter, joyful moments, intense conversations, and memories of our shared loves & delights of this life —water, clouds, light, relationships, the natural world, laughter, food (oh how fun it was to break bread with Kathryn). Thanks also for the opportunity to contribute to Denver Cares in Kathryn’s honor/memory.

  3. That last paragraph including “Laugh with your whole body”…so very what comes to mind when I think about Kathryn. What a beautiful person. Thank you for sharing. – Lisa

  4. That is exactly my experience Kathryn – Deep connection, joyful laughter, nature and the pine trees, and FOOD! We met on all fronts. But her overarching essence for me, was her impeccable grace.
I am grateful for her presence in my life.
    So much love, always.

  5. What a wonderful grandmother to my great-niece and mother-in-law to my nephew. Heaven will welcome you! ❤️
