BOULDER-Kathleen Marie Beltrame, age 42, passed away March 26, 2025, in Boulder surrounded by family. She was born July 11, 1982, to Michael and Mary Margaret (Branson) Beltrame in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Kate attended Holy Spirit Grade School and Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, graduating in 2000. She loved theater and debate, lifelong skills she used in her personal and business life. Kate then attended the New School in NYC for one year before trading skyscrapers for mountains, and making her way to Boulder, Colorado where she graduated with honors from the University of Colorado in 2004 with a BA in Psychology.
Hard working and independent, Kate worked her way through college making new life-long friends. Her professional career started at Crispin, Porter + Bogusky (CPB), an international advertising agency. She rose to the position of Senior Planner, Cultural and Business Insights, where she developed strategic plans for a host of national brands.
At CPB, she met and worked on several projects with a creative director who later became her husband. Neil Riddell and Kate were married in the beautiful Gardens of the Villa Catignano in Siena, Italy in 2010.
They built their dream home on Boulder Creek, enjoying the wildlife and natural beauty of the Rocky Mountain Foothills, where they reside with their children, Tucker (11) and Fiona (9).
Kate lived for the outdoors, planting trees, flowers, plants and vegetables. She was devoted to teaching her kids about living a healthy, balanced life and was passionate about protecting the environment.
Kate also relished the arts, loved making crafts, and enjoying her Irish and Italian heritage. She loved playing games of all kinds, and although she took a long time to make a move, she delighted in giving a beguiling “hee-hee-hee” when she surprised you with some clever gamesmanship.
Having been diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago, Kate developed a holistic approach to life as well as a robust knowledge of herbal supplements to relieve pain and discomfort. This was very helpful as Kate started chemo treatments and triumphed over several serious lung infections. With her newfound knowledge and determination, she dreamed one day of becoming a naturopathic doctor to help others.
Kate loved coming home to Indianapolis to visit family, reconnect with friends, laugh and relive some cherished childhood memories. She was able to travel recently with her family to both Mexico and France. Trips to Ireland and Italy were also two of her favorite destinations.
Besides her husband and children, Kate is survived by her parents, siblings Bridget (Cory) Stark, Meg Beltrame (Alex Yang), and Michael Beltrame (Katlin Warmels), niece Sloane Stark and nephews Lincoln Stark and Nico Yang, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Margrett, Branson, and Beltrame families.
A memorial service is planned for 10:00 am Thursday April 10, at the Chautauqua Community House, 301 Morning Glory Drive, Boulder. Burial will follow at 11:30 am in Green Mountain Cemetery, 290 20th Street, Boulder. Unity of Boulder minister, Syntysche Groveland will lead services. The Natural Funeral, Lafayette, is handling arrangements. Additional information can be found at www.thenaturalfuneral.com. A memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will also be held in Indianapolis, Indiana at a later date.
A special thanks to all those who have been praying and supporting Kate these last few years and to Jenn Nebergall and Eliah Golden who generously supplied nutritious and unique soups, beverages and meals on a regular basis. Your kindness in her time of need was much appreciated. In lieu of flowers, Kate would want you to plant a tree or garden, make a donation to charity, or take action to support the environment, as these were the things closest to her heart.

My dear precious friend. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you. I loved and adored you with all of my heart. Our visits and sisterhood touched me and left its mark on me. The grief is all consuming. But, I rejoice that you are not suffering and that your eternal body is in heaven free of sickness. I’ll miss you fiercely and for the rest of my days. I’m absolutely going to plant a garden in your honor and memory. Kate, I love you and will do so for the rest of days here of Earth until we are reunited in heaven. To your husband and children, I’ll be holding you tight in my prayers.
Sweet Kate!
You will be missed dearly by all
Your life on earth may have been too short, but your mark on it – so so long…

Having joined the Beltrame family allowed me to know and love Kate throughout her life. She remains a beautiful soul in the eyes of everyone she knew. Love to all the family.
Mike & Peggy, I am so sorry for your loss. I still have and cherish the elephant bracelet Kate and her sisters gave me in memory of Joanne. Sending you and the family prayers of comfort in your time of need.
Mike and Peggy-
With an extremely heavy heart, I give me condolences to you both. Kate was such a beautiful soul, having known her from such an early age.
Love, light and strength to you both.
I feel blessed to know and to love Kate, my Niece. So lovely and fun to be around. She taught me much about nutrition. Thanks for coming home so often. I will miss you. 😊💕
To the entire Beltrami family,
Words fail us when you look at this beautiful picture!
We watched her grow up on the softball field in Irvington, Holy Spirit grade school, and Cathedral high school.
What a beautiful young woman she became! We send our thoughts and prayers to all of you.

I remember Kate in her beautiful white dress. A simple, elegant dress that enhanced her diaphanous beauty. She was radiant, she was the allegory of life, strong and sweet. I remember her and Neil looking into each other’s eyes and holding hands. They couldn’t stop smiling and looking at each other. That evening, August 16, 2010, in the beautiful courtyard of Villa Catignano in Siena, with the clamor of the Palio di Siena in the distance, Kate and Neil were the only ones who didn’t feel the cold wind blowing in the Tuscan countryside. It was beautiful to think that they were warmed by their own love.
And it was an honor for us to be there representing the entire Italian Beltrame family.
The news of Kate’s passing came across the ocean like a bolt from the blue. I often thought of you in that beautiful house in Colorado, with your two wonderful children. We would like you to know, dear Neil, Tucker and Fiona, that here in Italy you will always have a family ready to welcome you with open arms. Be strong, honor Kate’s life, remember her in every daily gesture, in everything she taught you. As we will do too.
This evening, after learning the news through my cousin Cristian, I walked on the beautiful hills of Friuli, looking at the Alps, among the vineyards. A part of Kate’s roots are certainly here, the beauty of this place is proof of it. I will continue to walk on this wonderful land, and I will always know where to find her.

It was such a pleasure to have known Kate even so briefly as neighbors in the canyon. We certainlyenjoyed seeing her dream home become a beautiful reality. We deeply regret not having the opportunity to spend more time in her charming company. Our deepest sympathy to Neil and the children.
