Jesse Galen Smock, 36, was born November 26, 1985 to Christine and Timothy Smock in Boulder, Colorado. He transitioned in Louisville, Colorado on December 12, 2021. He was a graduate of Boulder High School and of the University of Colorado.
Jesse lost his years’ long battle with alcohol addiction. He did not ask for this disease and tried many times to defeat it before it took him. Friends can best support his memory by donating to Harvest Farm (harvestfarm.org), Spero Recovery Center (https://securepayment.link/sperorecovery/) The Boulder Alano Club (boulderalanoclub.org) or your local addiction recovery services. Please mention Jesse so that we may thank you.
A service of remembrance will be held at Unity of Boulder, 2855 Folsom Street, Boulder CO on February 19, 2022 at 2:00. All who knew him are invited to attend.
I am so very sorry to hear this. Brings back happy neighborhood memories of the kids playing together. May Jesse’s soul be at peace.
I never met Jesse, but I do know how much his Mom, Christine, loved and misses him! My deepest condolences, Christine, you are not alone.
I’m so sorry for your loss, Christine. Thank you for sharing a bit of your and Jesse’s story with our group.
Christine, our hearts break with yours. We hope to see you at the service.
What can one say about Jesse? I hadn’t seen Jesse in years – well, decades, actually – when I learned of the tragedy of his passing. I knew Jesse when he was in my advanced math classes in elementary school. Jesse was a bright, alert child then, as well as respectful and kind to others, and generally a friendly, likable person. The world is a lesser place without him. My wish is for his family and friends to always remember the sweet person he was as a way to keep Jesse alive by keeping alive the great memories of him.
We wish you and Sam peace as you deal with the aftermath of Jesse’s passing. We will always remember him and his pure heart and gentle nature. We regret not seeing him more in recent years, and that his struggle was so hard. We are thinking of you and sending much love. Chris & David
