July 14, 1949 – December 18, 2019
Dean was diagnosed with ALS in September 2017. Within 2 years the avid hiker and traveler was bound to a wheel chair. In spite of the physical restrictions he found new ways to enjoy life. He had a strong mind and a great sense of humor until the very end. He carried his plight with dignity, and was an inspiration to all he interacted with. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and daughters.
He will be missed.
“Grief never ends but it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is the price of love.”

Dean was a wonderful neighbor, a joy to talk to and share gardening ideas and tips with. I remember sitting on my front porch sipping coffee and he would amble over. We always had a good chat, about anything. The cul-de-sac is a little less joyful without him, he will be missed. Love to his family.
